5 ways to spend time at home

We want to focus on the positive aspects of staying at home during this time of uncertainty. We believe that being at home with our families gives the opportunity to stop and embrace the moments that sometimes pass us by. From bringing some nostalgia with childhood movies to cosying up with your partner once the kids are in bed - we have some ideas for spending time at home.

Here are just a few of our favourite ideas on how to make the most of your time at home:

1. pyjama party

Remember when you were little and there was nothing as exciting as staying at home in your pjs? Well we now get to embrace doing this as adults!

We’d suggest matching family PJs because it makes everything a little more Instagrammable, but any pyjamas will do. Make sure they’re soft and comfy so you can lounge around with your family.

2. movie marathon

With many new movies now available to rent through streaming services, and years of buying DVDs for the little ones, now is the perfect time to get watching.

You can choose from Netflix, Amazon Prime or even Disney+ which will bring a sense of childhood nostalgia to your watching schedule.

Snuggle up on the sofa or in bed with your family and get watching all of those animated classics.

3. date night

Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean that date night has to stop existing.

After the little ones have gone to bed, you could put on some music, light some candles and get creative together!

You can make pizzas, play games or just talk - it’s a great way to connect with one another and forget the outside world for some time.

4. girls night in

Staying in touch is more important than ever right now, and with more and more video apps emerging, it’s easy to keep connected.

You might not be able to meet up with your girlfriends, but you can plan in a video group call - get the wine, snacks and gossip at the ready for a relaxing evening.

5. start a hobby

So many of us have a list of hobbies we would like to try but never seem to have the time to do so… But now we do!

Keep your hands and mind occupied with many different activities from drawing to vinyassa yoga to learning to crochet.

With a few extra hours in the day, it’s time to do something you’ve always wanted to.

... and finally

Remember: Staying at home can be tough for many of us, and does mean that our typical way of life has changed but with a positive focus we can still enjoy the little things.
