Hi Akin! Can you tell us a bit about how this brand collaboration came about? Why is Lovevery such a great fit for MORI?

This collaboration is an exciting new chapter for us. Since their inception, both MORI and Lovevery have been dedicated to supporting parents and their little ones during those precious early years. We started our journeys around the same time almost 10 years ago - albeit on different sides of the pond - and it’s been inspiring to see how we’ve both evolved while still keeping the same ethos of making parenting simpler, calmer and more joyful.

Lovevery has become a household name thanks to their thoughtfully designed Play Kits, curated to suit each stage of a child’s early development. Their approach - taking the guesswork out of choosing the right toys for every phase - is something we resonate with deeply. At MORI, we strive to create essentials that not only encourage better sleep but make everyday life a little easier for families. 

I’ve personally experienced the magic of Lovevery through my daughter Evelyn. From the moment we introduced her to the Play Kits at about six months old, I saw how each toy engaged her curiosity and supported her learning. Every new delivery brings excitement and fresh challenges that she adores. One of our current favourites is the ‘Bunnies in a Felt Burrow’ from The Babbler Kit. Evelyn spends a lot of time peeking into the little pouch and spying all the sleeping bunnies, before pulling them out again. It’s so lovely watching her face light up every time.

What is it about the Lovevery brand that you admire?

Lovevery excels in alleviating the pressures of parenting, ensuring that the development and cognitive needs of little ones are met through engaging and thoughtful experiences. This aspect of their mission really stands out to me as parenting, as we all discover, isn’t always intuitive. It’s comforting to know that there’s a brand like Lovevery that uses experts to create products which support the nuances of early development.

MORI was born out of the desire to make a parent’s life easier, providing them with the softest and safest sleepwear for a better night’s sleep. How did MORI begin and how does it help you now that you’re a parent yourself?

Parents have so many things to think about at every minute of the day: the next meal, making sure you have the nappy bag packed, is my baby sleeping enough, am I sleeping enough? We wanted our products to help with some of this mental load so parents feel confident that they’re dressing their baby in something comfortable and gentle on their sensitive skin. We also added features that make bedtimes or nappy changes just that little bit calmer for everybody involved. 

Now that I’ve become a Dad, I’ve seen firsthand how beneficial MORI’s sleepwear is; Evelyn sleeps exclusively in our products. The quality and softness are unmatched thanks to our signature blend of bamboo and organic cotton, which is also used across our daywear range. Our signature fabrics are also temperature-regulating which means Evelyn is a comfortable temperature play and dreaming.

The MORI x Lovevery Clever Zip Sleepsuit is a market-first and new collaboration for both brands. What is it that sets this product apart?

Sleep and development go hand in hand as research shows that a baby who is stimulated and active during wake windows sleeps better. Recognising this, we created a sleepsuit that balances both rest and play. Every supersoft sleepsuit comes with Lovevery Black and White Cards to keep babies engaged during wake windows. Additionally, the inclusion of high-contrast patterned scratch mitts and feet helps little ones discover their hands and feet earlier, enhancing their developmental journey.

Finally, what piece of advice would you give to new parents?

Navigating parenthood for the first time is a journey filled with learning and growth, and sharing the responsibilities with your partner or support network is key. As a gay couple, my partner and I divided the feeding and changing duties to ensure we both had meaningful bonding time with our daughter, Evelyn. This approach allowed us to support each other by taking turns with both the duties and the much-needed rest periods.

It’s also vital to maintain flexible expectations. There’s an abundance of parenting advice available, yet no definitive manual exists. Every family's situation is unique, and it’s perfectly normal to make mistakes—you're learning about a whole new aspect of life, after all. If possible, lean on experienced parents within your community; they’ve been where you are and understand the challenges. Above all, be kind to yourself and remember that you don't need to have all the answers.
